Tullideph raises funds with sponsored walk across the Tay Road Bridge

Posted: June 18, 2026

People supported by Hillcrest Futures’ Tullideph service in Dundee have raised over £247 after taking part in a sponsored walk across the Tay Road Bridge, with the unrestricted funds raised specifically for their own service to support activities.

The walk was organised by George Ward, who is supported by the service, and who took on the challenge on 5 June. What started as his idea quickly became a group activity, with others supported at Tullideph joining him on the day. Everyone enjoyed the experience, and George was pleased with the amount raised.

The funds, alongside support from Hillcrest Futures’ Enabling Fund, helped pay for a Scotland-themed party at Tullideph to celebrate the World Cup. The event included decorations, a barbeque, drinks, games, an ice cream delivery from the Kandy Shop, and live music from local musician Logan Beattie.

Ivor Lawson, who is also supported at Tullideph and has a keen interest in photography, attended both events and captured some great moments.

Hillcrest Futures’ Tullideph service supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live independently in their own homes and engage with their local community.
