Robbie, Supported Person at Tollcross View

Hello, my name’s Robbie and I live at Hillcrest Future’s temporary accommodation for homeless men at Tollcross in Edinburgh. I used to live with my family, but had to move out. I moved into Tollcross five years ago to get support with legal issues, help with developing life skills and to improve my own mental health.

I feel safe here at Tollcross. The support workers at Hillcrest Futures have helped me to sort out all of my legal issues. Thanks to them, I also feel I can now do a lot more on my own – like cooking my own meals and going to activity groups. Hillcrest is now helping me to find other supported accommodation – a shared flat with others, which I hope to find soon.

I would really like to go into some form of part time work, and Hillcrest is helping me with this. They help me to build a CV and provide useful training. I’ll be sad to leave here when I eventually move on, but I know I can always come and visit all the staff who have helped support me.
