Hillcrest welcomes three new Maintenance Apprentices

We’re delighted to welcome three new Maintenance Apprentices to Hillcrest as they begin their careers with us and take the first steps towards becoming qualified tradespeople.

Joining the team this year are Ollie Johnstone (Joinery Apprentice), Kian Ferrie (Electrician Apprentice) and Cammy Robins (Plumbing Apprentice).

All three apprentices share a passion for football and are looking forward to developing new skills, meeting new people and gaining hands-on experience while learning their trade.

Ollie Johnstone, Joinery Apprentice

For 16-year-old Ollie, Hillcrest already felt like a familiar place thanks to a work placement he completed while still at school.

“The reason I wanted to join Hillcrest is, after attending a work placement while at school, I enjoyed the people that work here and the variety of work we do.”

Outside of work, Ollie enjoys playing football, watching movies and spending time with friends. As he starts his apprenticeship, he’s looking forward to meeting new people and continuing to improve his joinery skills.

Kian Ferrie, Electrician Apprentice

Kian, 16, has joined Hillcrest as an Electrician Apprentice. In his spare time he enjoys playing football and golf.

Kian was drawn to Hillcrest because of the organisation’s values and the positive impact it has on the communities it serves.

“I joined Hillcrest because of its good core values and the excellent work they do to support people.”

As he begins his apprenticeship, Kian is excited about learning new skills and getting to know new colleagues.

Cammy Robins, Plumbing Apprentice

Seventeen-year-old Cammy has started his Plumbing Apprenticeship with Hillcrest.

Away from work, he enjoys playing football, spending time with friends and watching UFC. He chose Hillcrest because of its strong reputation across Dundee and Scotland.

“I wanted to join Hillcrest because they are a well-known and respected company throughout Dundee and Scotland.”

Looking ahead, Cammy is excited to meet new people both at college and at work while building valuable new skills and experience.
