The Hillcrest Foundation has donated £5,000 to Scottish charity Help for Kids, which will go towards delivering much needed beds for eight families affected by the floods in Brechin last October. As well as so far providing 11 beds across eight families, they have also arranged to deliver toys and gifts for the children, just in time for Christmas.
Stacey Wallace, Manager for Help for Kids said “We are delighted to have received this generous donation from the Hillcrest Foundation. The funds have enabled us to purchase practical supplies to support some families in Brechin, who experienced significant losses due to the recent floods”.
Mark Percival, Chair of the Hillcrest Foundation Board, said “We’re really pleased that our donation will help make a positive impact on those who’ve needed support in the aftermath of the floods.”
A local Brechin resident who’ll be receiving some of the aid said she was deeply impacted after her home was damaged by the flood. “This support means so much to my family and I. Dealing with the flood has been a really overwhelming experience and we’ve had a difficult time. This help will really make a difference and I feel like we can look forward to Christmas now.”
The Hillcrest Foundation’s goal is to improve people’s lives and create positive futures. Recognised as an anchor organisation in Scotland, the Foundation works in collaborative partnerships to ensure care and support is provided where it is most needed.
Help for Kids is a Dundee based charity. It aims to support, aid and fund, local children or causes concerning local children, who are vulnerable or disadvantaged through either social and economic circumstances or through health and disability in Dundee and the surrounding areas.
