Apprentice Testimonial – Poppy Thompson – Tennant Services
Poppy is a current apprentice with us here at Hillcrest and is doing Her Business Administration qualification, while working with our HEAT and Financial Wellbeing teams. Below Poppy shares some insights into her time with Hillcrest so far.
What’s your name and what apprenticeship are you undertaking? – My name is Poppy Thompson and I am currently undertaking my Tenant services Apprenticeship.
What are your interests/Hobbies? – My main Hobbie would be dancing, I also like to spend time with Family and friends.
What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship? I love learning on the job and being able to shadow different areas of the business meeting new people and learning new skills.
What has been your favourite memory since starting at hillcrest? My favourite memory would be spending time with the other young people at our young person’s group it’s good to hear how others are finding their apprenticeship and hear what different things we have all learn from our time at Hillcrest.
What advice would you give someone thinking about starting an apprenticeship? I would recommend an apprenticeship it’s a great way to learn on the job but also gain a qualification , it also allows you to learn how a business works and what different jobs are available that you may be interested in.
What do you hope to do in the future? In the future I would love to stay at Hillcrest, hopefully remaining in Tenant Services.
How has Hillcrest supported you since starting your apprenticeship? Everyone I have worked with or met since starting have been helpful either with information or support, my team have definitely been a massive help in my confidence and understanding of the business since starting. Along with getting together with the young person’s Group monthly has also helped me settle into the business.
What made you apply for an apprenticeship? The idea of learning on the job as opposed to a classroom environment has always been more appealing to me this was a perfect opportunity to do that while also earning and doing my qualification all at the same time.
