A message from Director of Futures, John Booth – World Autism Acceptance Week 2024

Posted: April 2, 2024

World Autism Acceptance Week is a global campaign which aims to help more people understand what autism is, as well as the ways it can affect life for people with autism. Each year has a different theme, and this year the theme is ‘colour’.

The campaign is running from 2nd to 8th of April, and to mark the start of the week, we share a message from our Director of Futures, John Booth.

As World Autism Acceptance Week begins, I want to highlight the importance of embracing neurodiversity and supporting individuals with autism. With two of our services accredited by the National Autistic Society, Hillcrest Futures is committed to providing tailored, high-quality support to people on the autism spectrum.

“Throughout this week-long campaign we will be hosting a range of events aimed at raising awareness and celebrating diversity. From stalls at Dundee Science Centre, to colourful activities and sensory experiences, these initiatives highlight our dedication to inclusion and understanding.

“We believe in championing acceptance and understanding for individuals with autism, not just during this awareness week, but every single day.
