The recruitment process

Applying for an opportunity at Hillcrest is straightforward and follows a series of steps.

Here’s what to expect when applying for a role with us.

Setting up an online account to ensure your progress is saved

To apply for any of our vacancies, you will be asked to create an online account using your email address and creating a password on our iTrent platform. It’s useful to keep a note of this as all stages of the recruitment process are managed through your account.

Apply for the role

All vacancies require an application form to be completed and submitted through our online recruitment portal. Some require a CV and you will be asked to upload this as part of the application process.

All applications are anonymised, so you can remove any identifying information from your CV before uploading this if you like.

Shortlisting

This is typically completed within 2 weeks of the advert closing date. If selected, you will receive an email asking you to log into your online account and select an interview time slot. All interviews are face to face and you’ll be told the location when booking a time slot.

The offer

If you are successful, you will receive a conditional offer of employment and will get access to the onboarding platform through. You will be asked to complete an onboarding checklist to assist our recruitment team to carry out pre-employment checks including:

  • References
  • Disclosure Scotland check
  • Right to Work check
  • DVLA check (where applicable)
  • Task Role Analysis (this confirms your fitness to undertake the role) *

*An Occupational Health appointment may be required if a health condition is noted. This doesn’t go against you in being successful in getting the role, it just helps us establish how best to support you in your role, and if there’s any consideration we should know of such as accessibility requirements.
