Hillcrest Futures’ Dundee Housing with Care service has received ‘Very Good’ ratings across key areas following an unannounced inspection by the Care Inspectorate.

The service, which provides care at home, housing support and homecare services to people with a range of health and support needs in Dundee and Broughty Ferry, was praised for its compassionate, person-centred approach and reliable support.

Inspectors highlighted that people using the service were treated with warmth, kindness and respect, and that support was reliable and consistent, helping people feel safe and reassured.

Strong relationships between staff and the people they support were evident, with staff knowing individuals well and providing personalised care that reflected people’s preferences and routines.

The report noted that a stable staff team and keyworker system helped ensure continuity of care, allowing people to build trust and feel secure. People receiving support shared very positive feedback, describing staff as “like friends,” and saying staff “go above and beyond” to support them.

Support planning and regular reviews were also highlighted as strengths, ensuring care remained personalised and responsive to people’s changing needs. Inspectors also recognised the service’s strong partnership working with health and social care professionals, helping ensure people received well-coordinated and responsive care.

The staff team was also commended, with inspectors noting that staffing arrangements were well organised and that staff worked well together. Training opportunities, supportive leadership and effective recruitment processes were highlighted as contributing to a skilled and confident workforce.

John Booth, Director of Hillcrest Futures, commented: “This inspection report reflects the commitment and professionalism of our Dundee Housing with Care team. The feedback shows how important strong relationships, reliability and person-centred support are in helping people feel safe, valued and independent in their homes. We’re very proud of the team and will continue to build on these positive outcomes to further strengthen the service.”

The Care Inspectorate evaluated the service as ‘Very Good’ for both how well the service supports people’s wellbeing and how good the staff team is, recognising significant strengths in the care and support provided.
