At Hillcrest, we’re proud to support Climate Week and showcase our commitment to sustainability. As one of Scotland’s largest providers of social housing and care services, we endeavour to lead by example by reducing our emissions, support communities, and build resilience.
Climate Week is a reminder that climate action starts with us in our homes, our communities, and our workplaces.
At Hillcrest, we’re not just responding to the climate emergency, we’re helping shape a fairer, greener future. From energy-efficient homes to low-carbon care services, our work directly supports people and the planet. But real change only happens when we all get involved. Whether it’s choosing active travel, reducing waste, or supporting sustainable practices, our everyday actions add up.
This week is about empowering staff and tenants to take part, share ideas, and celebrate progress. Together, we can build a future that’s resilient, inclusive, and ready for the challenges ahead. Every choice we make, from how we travel to how we manage waste, contributes to Scotland’s climate goals.
Reduce waste: Carry a reusable water bottle or coffee cup.
Reuse: Mend or repurpose things like clothing before buying new items.
Recycle: Use the correct bins and avoid contamination. Donate old clothes to charity shops, or clothing bins.
Travel actively: Walk, cycle, or use public transport where possible.
Start a conversation: Share ideas with your friends, family and colleagues on how to be more sustainable.
