Welcoming our Career Ready interns

We would like to give a very warm welcome to our three Career Ready interns who started on Monday 27 June and will be with us for four weeks. Roksi Plasczyk and Anthony Malone join us from Harris Academy, while Aaban Afzal is from Baldragon Academy.

Career Ready is a two year programme empowering young people in S5 and S6 to kick-start their chosen career through a series of authentic workplace experiences and a network of support.

As part of the programme, the interns are each completing a internship at Hillcrest. Anthony is being mentored by Joy Dunlop and has a keen interest in IT, so has been spending time with out IT helpdesk. Anthony has had an impact already, helping the team dismantle and rebuild computers.

Roksi is mentored by Jacqui Treays and has an interest in the people side of the business and how we support our tenants. This week she has teamed up with Euan in HEAT, assisting with tenant phone calls and visits.

Aaban has an interest in digital development and design. His mentor is Lesley Don and he is being supported by Ross in our Communications and Media team, where he has already been helping design an as yet top secret campaign, as well as getting involved in the new intranet development! Aaban will also be helping use the drone to film and photograph a variety of sites as well as trying his hand at video editing.
