This week is Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022, a campaign highlighting the benefits apprenticeships bring to businesses, individuals and the economy.
Hillcrest has a long history of providing employment opportunities to young people, which is reflected in our recent accreditation as a Young Person’s Guarantee employer.
To mark the week, we shared a number of stories and videos from young people across Hillcrest.
Our Dundee-based trades company Hillcrest Maintenance recently teamed up with Future Skills College to offer local young people the opportunity to receive hands-on experience in a trade of their choice.
The year long pre-apprenticeship programme is designed for senior pupils at secondary schools in Dundee. The course prepares students for their future careers through a combination of studying at Dundee and Angus College, while working with local employers. Click here to find out more.
We asked the three pre-apprentices how they are finding their courses so far. Watch the video below to find out what they had to say:
In the video below we hear from Laura Bremner, Hillcrest Homes admin trainee. She tells us what she enjoys most about her role, as well as her hopes for the future.
