Hillcrest Futures is joining Perth and Kinross Council and Scottish Prison Service to take part in RecoverMAY, a project celebrating the journeys, pathways and steps to recovery.
People supported by our Perth Prison Peer Support and Perth Adult Drug and Alcohol services, along with their support staff, have been writing poems and creating paintings on the topic of “walking the inch” – taking those first few steps outside of prison towards a new life, following their release. The poem below was written by Hillcrest Futures worker, Alison Morris.
The works will be on display at the RecoverMAY Art Exhibition in the Civic Hall, 2 High Street, Perth on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 May between 10am to 5pm. Staff will also be offering Naloxone training and handing out kits. Everyone is welcome to attend.
