In today’s topic for Talk Money Week, we look at the new Scottish Child Payment.
This payment is for families on a low-income with children under the age of six. The Scottish Child Payment opened for applications on 9th November and the first payments are due to be distributed from the end of February 2021.
Under this new benefit, you will be able to apply for £10 per child, per week – equivalent to £520 per year. There are no limits on the number of eligible children supported by Scottish Child Payment.
To be eligible, families will also have to be in receipt of a qualifying benefit, such as Universal Credit, Legacy Benefits or Pension Credit.
