Following an extensive period of consultation, Hunters Hall Housing Co-Op tenants have voted during a four week ballot period in favour of transferring to Hillcrest Homes.
The formal ballot, managed and validated by Civica Election Services, resulted in nearly 75% of tenants voting and 92% of those voters supporting the transfer.
Nicola Thom, Hunters Hall Interim Director explained that “This outcome has been the result of many months of consultation, community engagement, listening and responding, not only by the team here but also by colleagues within Hillcrest Homes. Together we have proven to be a strong and focused team, working closely to ensure the best outcome for our customers and colleagues from both organisations.
“I am personally delighted with the outcome and I’m excited about a successful future for Hunters Hall”.
Angela Linton, Hillcrest Homes Chief Executive commented that “Being heavily involved in the process, I have been extremely impressed with the commitment shown by staff of both organisations to put customers at the heart of it all.
“The decision made by tenants of Hunters Hall will ensure that they are more involved in scrutiny, including a local tenant participation group, as well as receiving sound investment plans for their homes and community as well as assurances on the level of annual rent increases. By working together, both organisations can only become stronger and continue to offer a fantastic service to our customers.”
A detailed implementation plan has been drafted to ensure a successful transfer on 1st April 2021.
