Residents, businesses and organisations of Stobswell, Dundee, came together in a show of support for struggling families during the holiday season, with a Christmas appeal that saw an overwhelming response.
Morgan Academy and nearly 20 local businesses and organisations supported the appeal by hosting donation boxes.
The community also rallied behind the cause, with one generous local couple choosing to spend their government energy allowance on two boxes of brand new North Face fleeces, jackets and sweatshirts for donation. Another local gentleman, for the 3rd year in a row, knitted pure wool jumpers and scarves to contribute to the appeal.
In addition to the goods collected for distribution, which also included food and toys, cash donations totalling £4,276 were raised from a range of organisations and donors. The donated goods were distributed to struggling families in the Stobswell area to bring some Christmas support and cheer.
Stobswell Forum, who organised the appeal, expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community, highlighting that the donations would go a long way in bringing some joy and comfort to families in need during the holiday season.
