Today’s Challenge Poverty Week topic looks at adequate income. This essentially means households having enough money to be comfortable.

Scots have missed out on £43million in unclaimed benefits in the past year alone shock figures reveal.

An online tool devised by Advice Direct Scotland uncovered this sum while helping out hard-pressed clients during the cost-of-living squeeze. New figures show the benefits calculator was used by 56,000 people in the past 12 months, identifying over £43 million of unclaimed money. The tool is designed to reduce financial hardship by ensuring people are claiming all of the support they are entitled to.
