The staff and residents at a Hillcrest Futures service in Edinburgh would like to say a huge thank you to the Barclay Viewforth Church for their surprise donation of £208.
The team at Bruntsfield House received the money which was raised from the retiring offering at the church’s Watchnight service on Christmas Eve.
Bruntsfield House offers temporary supported accommodation for homeless people aged 16 and over in Edinburgh. The money will be added to the service’s enabling fund which is used to facilitate activities for residents outside of the usual support remit. These activities enhance and improve the lives of the people we support.
Activities are decided on a person-by-person basis according to the needs of the individual. In the past this has included contributing towards a driving licence and lessons, a go-karting session, martial arts classes, a spa day and hiring a recording studio.
The money will also be used to enable service users to obtain official ID documents such as birth certificates and passports.
