Our Net Zero and Climate Change Strategy 2025-2030 outlines clear actions to cut energy use, embrace renewable technologies, and promote greener practices across our homes, offices, and communities.

Key actions will include:

• Upgrading existing homes to meet modern energy efficiency standards.
• Designing new homes with a ‘Fabric First’ approach, prioritising insulation and energy performance.
• Exploring low-carbon heating alternatives to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
• Supporting national goals for emissions reduction, nature restoration, and sustainable transport.

We have established a Net Zero Delivery Group to monitor and drive forward Hillcrest’s net zero ambitions.  Chaired by our Chief Executive and comprising of senior colleagues from across the organisation, the group will:

• Oversee the implementation of Hillcrest’s Net Zero and Climate Change Strategy
• Examine existing practices and recommend sustainable alternatives
• Regularly review and evaluate progress
• Implement Hillcrest’s Net Zero and Climate Change Strategy

To address our highest emissions, we have established a Buildings Sub-Group, dedicated to exploring innovative design approaches and retrofit strategies to enhance the energy efficiency and sustainability of both existing and new properties owned or managed by Hillcrest.
