HMRC is issuing Tax Credits renewal packs to claimants for the 2023-24 tax year until 15 June 2023.
If you claim Tax Credits, you have until 31 July 2023 to check that your information is correct and let HMRC know of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your claim.
There are two types of renewal packs that may be received:
– If it has a red line across the first page and says ‘reply now’, then you will need to confirm your circumstances in order to renew your Tax Credits.
– If it has a black line across the first page and says ‘check now’, you will need to check that your details are correct. If they are, you don’t need to do anything, and your Tax Credits will be automatically renewed.
More than 500,000 Tax Credits customers will need to reply to HMRC by the deadline of 31 July to confirm their circumstances, or risk having their payments stopped.
