Hillcrest Futures’ Orchard Way service achieves National Autism Accreditation

Posted: May 1, 2026

Hillcrest Futures is pleased to announce that its Orchard Way support service has achieved Autism Accreditation from the National Autistic Society.

Following an assessment carried out earlier this year, Orchard Way was awarded Accredited status, showing that the service meets recognised standards for supporting autistic people.

The accreditation recognises the work of the team in providing person-centred support, helping people build independence, and creating a calm and supportive environment. It also highlights the service’s focus on communication, wellbeing and meaningful day-to-day activities.

Chris Robb, Strategic Business Manager at Hillcrest Futures, said: “We’re really pleased to have achieved Autism Accreditation at Orchard Way. It reflects the hard work of the whole team and their commitment to supporting people in a way that works for them as individuals. We focus on helping people feel comfortable, build confidence and live as independently as possible, and it’s great to see that recognised.”

Orchard Way is a residential service in Hillside near Montrose, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities. Staff work closely with the people they support, as well as families and other professionals, to make sure support is tailored to each person’s needs and preferences.

John Booth, Director of Hillcrest Futures, added: “This is a great achievement for Orchard Way and something the whole team should be proud of. It shows the quality of support being provided and the positive difference it is making. We remain committed to continuing to improve and to providing high-quality support across all our services.”

Hillcrest Futures is a charity providing support to more than 2,500 people across Scotland across a wide range of specialisms. These include physical and learning disabilities, autism, neurodiversity, mental health and wellbeing, homelessness, harm reduction, distress intervention, suicide prevention, drug and alcohol recovery, and support for both young and older people.
