Two young apprentices have secured full time employment with Hillcrest Maintenance Services (HMS) after completing modern apprenticeships.
Ross Grant and Jackson Couper both achieved SVQ Level 3 in Joinery after completing the four year course at the Dundee-based maintenance company.
Tom Young, HMS operations manager said: “Ongoing investment in housing stock by Hillcrest Housing Association and Northern Housing Company, both part of the Hillcrest Group of Companies, has enabled HMS the opportunity to commit to an apprenticeship programme.
“Hillcrest is committed to training young people and recognises the importance of work-based learning for those who are keen to gain qualifications, but do not wish to continue with full time education after leaving school.”
Ross commented: “My apprenticeship at HMS was successful and challenging. I learnt a lot through the practical training and received support from the other tradesmen.”
Jackson added: “It’s great to have the opportunity to carry on working for the company and continue to develop my skills in the workplace.”
