Tenants and residents do you have home contents insurance?

Posted: February 4, 2025

Why do I need it?

As your landlord we cover the buildings insurance for your home, but you’ll need to arrange cover for your own contents, such as your TV, kitchen appliances, furniture, clothing and other belongings. It’s always a good idea to shop around for a policy that will give you the cover you need.

Home contents insurance isn’t compulsory, but if your home’s contents are stolen or damaged by vandalism, water leaks, flooding, storms or a fire, contents insurance can give you financial protection against these types of events, to give you peace of mind.

What does contents insurance cover?

The SFHA Diamond Scheme is designed specifically for residents in social housing, all our residents are eligible to apply. This policy can cover: Furniture, Carpets, Curtains, Clothes, Bedding, Electrical items, Pictures, Ornaments.

To find out more about the Diamond Insurance scheme, designed for tenants in social housing in Scotland, please contact URIS Group on 0345 671 817 or ask your landlord for an application pack.
