The Job

Some of the areas we offer support are personal care (includes toileting, bathing and showering), travel to and from places, daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, assistance with budgeting, menu planning and the preparation of meals. 

Reporting directly to the Assistant Manager, the Support worker is responsible for ensuring all of the needs of the service users are met. This role involves shift work including evenings and weekend working waking nights and sleepovers.

The Candidate

The Job

The role of the Support Worker is to Support individuals to develop and maintain skills and confidence in a variety of areas, this includes accessing community based services, following interests and hobbies, budgeting/shopping/meal preparation, support with medication, dealing with mail, maintaining personal hygiene, including intimate personal care, maintaining a healthy environment for the individual to live in. The service operates on a 24 hour a day basis, with staff working shifts including weekend working and undertaking sleepovers.

The Role

The role of the support worker is mainly to work alongside service users to develop daily living skills, such as budgeting, cooking and attending appointments. You should also have the ability to build supportive relationships with service users and assist them to tackle the issues that led to their homelessness. 

 

The Candidate

 

You should be confident in dealing with a homeless client group and have compassion and understanding for the issues homeless people face. You should also either hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or have the willingness to undertake study to achieve.

Our main aim is to move service users on from the project and resettle them in the community in a permanent housing option suited to their needs. This is achieved by building supportive relationships with service users and assisting them to tackle the issues that led to their homelessness. The post involves working to a rota that involves backshifts and weekend working.

The Role

The team is responsible for the development, configuration, installation and maintenance of infrastructure services including but not limited to: servers, desktop & mobile devices, networking, security & telephony. The post will also involve resolving issues escalated from the service desk team as well as general support and training to all users within the Hillcrest Group.

You Will

  • Be qualified to a minimum of SCQF Level 8 in an IT related discipline or industry accepted accreditations such as CCNA or Microsoft accreditation.
  • Have a proven track record of working with a wide variety of IT technologies and experience of delivering projects to tight timescales whilst meeting strategic and operational needs.
  • Be methodical and have excellent organisational skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be very customer focused.

The Caretaker will have responsibility for the upkeep of the housing development at 1-11 Wharton Square, Edinburgh, including undertaking cleaning duties, regular inspections and reporting repairs or concerns to appropriate Community Housing Officer (CHO) or Maintenance Officer (MO). 

It is expected that the Caretaker will become a source of information for tenants concerning the blocks and as a link between tenants and the CHO/MO, passing on information and requests.
