Learning Organisation

We recognise that our employees are our most valuable asset. They are the people who make a real difference to the lives of our customers through their interactions and day to day work. We are committed to supporting staff to be the best that they can be and to ensure this happens, we have invested in our own dedicated learning and development team. This allows for training activities to be tailored to specific team or departmental needs.

Our learning and development team provides access to a variety of formal and informal learning opportunities and resources which give staff every opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and experience required to enhance their practice.

All staff are put through an induction process when they join the Group. This varies across the Group but always includes an organisational introduction day where staff learn about the Group and the various departments. Senior staff are present on the day and both the Group Chief Executive and Subsidiary heads present to the new starts, introducing themselves and giving background to the organisation and the priorities over the next few months.

Training needs are assessed annually to ensure that we are providing all employees with the right skills and information in order to carry out their role to the highest standard.

In 2015 we launched our online learning portal, e-Den.  E-Den offers staff a suite of learning and development courses they can access from any PC without needing to attend a class room.  E-Den allows staff to complete important training at a time that suits them while reducing the impact on services.
