Group Objectives

The key objectives for Hillcrest Group of Companies over the next three years are to:

  • launch the new Customer Services Centre on 2 May 2016, which will improve customer service and provide our customers with a resolution at first point of contact;
  • conclude the 2016/19 development programme;
  • deliver the first Hillcrest Housing Association housing stock in Aberdeen and the Aberdeenshire area;
  • minimise the adverse impact of the on-going roll out of Welfare Reform and Universal Credit/Direct Payments on the organisation and on tenants and provide financial capability and financial inclusion support and advice;
  • support and empower our service users to lead fulfilling and independent lives;
  • review the results of our Homecare pilot and assess its viability of a long term service within Gowrie Care;
  • maintain and improve on the Care Inspectorate grades where possible;
  • turn Right Recruitment into a profit generating company by increasing the client base and expanding the geographical area of operation;
  • review the Property Strategy of the Hillcrest Group of Companies so that we maintain our properties to a high standard and deliver the programme of works required to meet the new EESSH standards;
  • deliver the recommendations made as part of the independent Value for Money exercise;
  • support apprenticeship training programmes to provide opportunities for individuals to attain qualifications and job opportunities and produce an “Apprentices Strategy” document;
  • provide new mid-market rent (MMR) opportunities in all of our areas of operation and assess the feasibility of delivering MMR properties in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire;
  • undertake a strategic review for the services delivered by Craigowl Communities;
  • further develop the Tenant’s Scrutiny within Hillcrest Housing Association, achieve accreditation for and enable further Tenant Led Inspections;
  • produce a Social Return on Investment Strategy and review 2 projects for assessment;
  • investigate the Private Rented Sector and conclude whether there is a role for delivering and/or managing this rented tenure;
  • ensure all employees within the Hillcrest Group of Companies are paid the Scottish Living Wage;
  • conclude assessment on future of Ellengowan Drive in Dundee; and
  • Review procurement and implement improvements for the Group in line with new legislation.
